MEDICAL GOODS RECYCLING CENTER -PROJECT
In Finland, good health care and hospital supplies are being disposed of. Much of the goods are usable or can be repaired with low effort. They are collected, refurbished and sorted at Hauho, where the products are packed in containers and then sent to the countries in need including Eastern Europe, Russia or Africa.
This process benefits many people both in Finland and abroad. The recycling operations of hospitals and healthcare facilities is facilitated -> Transport and handling of products create jobs and internships to Finland -> Hospitals in need get help and are able to improve their operations.
At present, there are about 100 hospitals and treatment units, as well as 40 companies that help both financially and delivering supplies that are being disposed of. The pickups take place all the way from Southern Finland to Kuopio.
Activities are expected to expand in the future to cover more donors, and to provide more jobs.
